For any writer curious to try screenwriting, this talk will give students the basics to get rolling. Elizabeth will describe how she’s made the shift from ‘strictly fiction’ into writing scripts as well, including a feature film, short films and a rock opera. She’ll survey popular screenwriting templates while also showing students how they don’t have to follow the prescribed ‘beats’. And she’ll include some brief brainstorming exercises to get students picturing their stories onscreen.
